Interview with Amanda Tran, 27.07.09

  1. What music has inspired you?

Indie, folk, pop, reggae, JAZZ, contemporary genres and collaborations of different styles together.

  2. Use three words to sum yourself up?

    better than you

  3. What music are you listening to at the moment?

everything that isn't hip hop, rnb, trance, foreign etc stuff like the virgins, papa vs. pretty, actress, where's jerome, deastro. etc etc. heaaaaaaaaps of stuff i dunno old school too. early beginnings of punk like letters to cleo and the spazzys and really classic rock stuff like elvis costello to david bowie. nothing you'd usually hear on the radio, haha.

  4. If you had a choice to play one song, what would it be, and why?

live high by jason mraz because i love him and that's a crackin song.

  5. Where will you be in five years from now?

im fifteen. so by then, i'll be 20. probably moved out, and im thinking somewhere on the local beaches so i can surf any time of the day i want. probably at uni, or something. if not even better, touring and playing my material world wide. haha, i hope one day i will.

  6. What venue would you most like to play at?

somewhere laidback and not too rehearsed. like a venue melbourne, or san diego or something. haha

  7. If you had a choice, who would be your support band?

OMG, um i have no idea. haha, probably cheap trick. toooooooootally not the genre i play but i love them to bits. so yeah or jason mraz :D

  8. Have you ever played in a band before, and if so who?

nope. jammed with friends but thats the closest to band i've been.

  9. Three people you would invite to your gig and why?

joe satriani bushwalla and andy irons cos he's my hero surfer. haha

  10. Any tips you would like to share with your fellow musos?

dont write too much ballady stuff. that stuff gets boring and the crowd will fall asleep and be yourself. dont write things that TOTALLY do not show who you are. like love songs with lyrics you pulled outa your ass. nope, dont do it. just chill, and write what comes to your mind

  11. Do you live the Rock n Roll lifestyle?

no. i go to school, chill with my mates, go surfing, eat, sleep, occassionally party. so i lead i normal life. even if i were ever to become successful in the music biz, i'd probably just use the money to travel and tour like everywhere haha. not buy ridiculously expensive furniture and dress my ass with the latest fashion and get smashed as often as i can.
