What music has inspired you?
A wide wide range of music inspires me. Songs that are so emotional, so intense that they make me cry - Blackout by Muse. Others that are the perfectly encapsulated pop track - Beatles. And some just overcome your body with an eerie feeling - Radiohead. It's hard to say really.
-
Use three words to sum yourself up?
Wearing a jacket?
-
What music are you listening to at the moment?
I'm really getting into the Beatles at the moment. The ability of Lennon/McCartney to create melodies, harmonies, lyrics, and all the parts of a pop song, is just ridiculous. Their whole catalogue is composed of finely-crafted music that anyone can enjoy.
-
If you had a choice to play one song, what would it be, and why?
Butterflies and Hurricanes - Muse. Not necessarily my all-time favourite Muse song, but so full of energy!
-
Where will you be in five years from now?
World famous, or at university. Hmm...
-
What venue would you most like to play at?
Well, small venues, then move up, till I've taken the world by storm and can perform in Times Square.
-
If you had a choice, who would be your support band?
Muse... though I'd probably be THEIR support band...
-
Have you ever played in a band before, and if so who?
I was in a band... of sorts... we never recorded anything. The lead singer/guitarist wanted to make hardcore music, and yet invited a synth player when he had no need for synths... he couldn't read sheet music for the life of him... and we only ended up covering maybe 3 songs... and one of the songs was 7 Nation Army. One riff. Over and over again. And, the lead singer never sang in front of us, me and the drummer caught him on YouTube, he was shithouse to be honest! Thank God I left that mess.
-
Three people you would invite to your gig and why?
Matt Bellamy, Thom Yorke, and my mum. Matt and Thom so I could bow down in their greatness, and my mum to nag me about dirt on my jeans when I'm on stage... gotta look my best! Actually that would be pretty annoying...
-
Any tips you would like to share with your fellow musos?
If you make mistakes, which we all do at some point, don't say, "Shit, I fucked up." Most non-musos won't notice your mistake.
-
Do you live the Rock n Roll lifestyle?
Hahaha, sleeping in every day at least. None of that drinking, drugs, and sex... YET!
