What music has inspired you?
When I was 4 years of age my dad introduced me to the band which i now idolize. Metallica. I recall sitting in the car with dad listening to the most brilliant sound in the world. Thunderous drums, powerful guitar riffs and pounding bass lines, it was the best thing i had ever heard. The best thing about Metallica's music is that it varies which shows the broad depth of talent. Classics like Master of Puppets, Enter Sandman, Creeping death, Unforgiven too master pieces like Fade to Black, Sanitarium, One, Bleeding Me, Outlaw Torn, too instrumentals like Orion, Call of Ktulu, too the heaviness of Sad But True, St Anger, That Was Just Your Life, too the lyrical brilliance of Fixxxer, Nothing Else Matters, The God That Failed the list goes on. The range of music is simply brilliant and is inspiring in so many ways.
-
Use three words to sum yourself up?
Metallica-Die-Hard Honorable Respectful
-
What music are you listening to at the moment?
On a daily basis Metallica, Lordi, Hammerfall and System of a Down. And i go through stages with other bands and music; so bands like Pantera, Rob Zombie, Avenged Sevenfold, local band Orpheus are all bands i listen to on some days. Surprisingly enough i also enjoy Classical music, especially when studying, because listening to Metallica in the library isn't very productive or fair on other students when your chanting DIE!, DIE!, DIE!, to Creeping Death.
-
If you had a choice to play one song, what would it be, and why?
The first song i learnt was Enter Sandman so that's always a song you can pick up the guitar and just thrash out. But a song i really enjoy playing is Master Of Puppets.
-
Where will you be in five years from now?
I suppose it's most people dream to be playing the music they love for money in front of the big crowds at the worlds largest stadiums; but generally it stays that dream. It'd be very nice to do be in that situation, but realistically i see myself completing my university education and working. whilst slamming out some heavy tunes with other fellow musicians.
-
What venue would you most like to play at?
Hmm; Rock Am Ring?
-
If you had a choice, who would be your support band?
Haha if somehow i became as big as Metallica, i'd want Metallica to play as my support band, but realistically that'l never happen.
-
Have you ever played in a band before, and if so who?
I used to jam in my mates garage with a few of my mates. We gave ourselves a name just for the hell of it but we weren't an actual band. Just some boys playing some heavy shit.
-
Three people you would invite to your gig and why?
- Metallica: Would love to show them my appreciation of what they have done to me - Family: Obviously would love to share my talents with my family - Fellow Metal Fans: Everyone going nuts over the music im playing on guitar; oh what a feeling.
-
Any tips you would like to share with your fellow musos?
Listen to the music you love; don't worry about what others think. If you love Screamo you listen to Screamo, if you love Brittany Spears, listen to Brittany Spears. Dont get caught in the trap of just going with the flow.
-
Do you live the Rock n Roll lifestyle?
No. I'd hardly call going to uni, studying a rock and roll life. But i when i am on my guitar with my bedroom door closed, it's like im standing in front of 100,000 people singing the song and music you play with you.
