Interview with TroubleKarmaFlow, 22.12.08

  1. How did your band meet?

It started out as a studio project with an amazingly talented hip hop producer, Fresqo of Fanocee Records. We met Bel J from JLR after hiring her to do our sound for our first gig ( a friend's backyard party). We hit it off and she became our manager. Deciding to take the band into a live platform, she introduced us to Nicole Murphy, Jherome Gadian & Eric the funk pirate Sambaeiw, and our band was complete...well almost complete. We just auditioned our new drummer as Eric is leaving to go back overseas. We are excited to have Kurt Brumley on board and look forward to continuing the TKF flow

  2. Where did the idea for your band's name come from?

Ben's brain (our lead singer). Ben wrote a song called trouble karma and thought it would be a great band name as it reflected his view on life. the flow was added to represent the hip hop element of rhyme and flow.

  3. What music has inspired your band?

Everytihng from Bob Marley to John Butler. We have so many different styles of musicians on board, that it's hard to define a particular style. We have a classically trainedl composer, a hip hop/funk MC, a rock drummer and a blues & roots front man, so plenty of influences which is heard in every one of our songs.

  4. Use three words to sum up your band?

    Trouble Karma and Flow

  5. What venue would you most like to play at?

Woodford or the blues & roots festival

  6. If you had a choice, who would be your support band?

There' s so many great bands, but if I had to choose local it would be Autumn Sun or the Travelling So & So's. On an international scale, I think it would have to be Bob Marley, Dave Matthews, Ben Harper..the list goes on

  7. Three people dead or alive you would invite to your gig, and why?

Bob Marley, Ben Harper & the funk pirate.....because all have influenced this band in music and life.

  8. What are you listening to at the moment?

The Wells new EP, Feeling Automatic.

  9. Where will your band be in five years from now?

on top of the world, having the best time ever!

  10. Any tips you would like to share with your fellow muso's?

keep your dream alive, n omatter what is thrown in your way. Never lose site of why you sing, write, play or love music

  11. Do you live the Rock n Roll lifestyle?

nah, we're just ordinary folk, family men, careers, the usual.
