Interview with Hawk, 12.02.11

  1. What music has inspired you?

To me there's only two type of music - Good and Bad and I'm extremely picky and only like the good. So in terms of inspiration anything from Miles Davis, Deep Purple, Stravinskij, Diana Ross, Muse, Queen.. Well, Anything that is well executed and has merit.

  2. Use three words to sum yourself up?

    Professional, experienced and reliable.

  3. What music are you listening to at the moment?

At the moment, I am listening to some prog rock and fusion from obscure 70's albums.. tomorrow, it could be something totally different like Motorhead :)

  4. If you had a choice to play one song, what would it be, and why?

Only one? hmm.. Queens Bohemian Rhapsody... It's got it all.

  5. Where will you be in five years from now?

Probably still playing and producing. I've been to the highest level of international playing and to the most lowest level of local miniscule pub playing and to me, the key is to keep playing.

  6. What venue would you most like to play at?

Would love to go back and play at Albert Hall, bad acoustics but what a venue!

  7. If you had a choice, who would be your support band?

    Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd.

  8. Have you ever played in a band before, and if so who?

Numerous.. Roxette, Robben Ford, Toto, Masters of Rock, Halfday, Mick Ronson Band.. the list goes on.

  9. Three people you would invite to your gig and why?

Jon Lord - because he inspired me so much in my youth Bill Gates - to show him what he should/could spend money on Darth Vadar - To show him what the force is all about:)

  10. Any tips you would like to share with your fellow musos?

Be true to yourself, stay focused and keep your chops up!

  11. Do you live the Rock n Roll lifestyle?

I live my dream of being a full time musician. I don't however do drugs or drink in excess. So define rock n roll lifestyle.. what non professionals think is the lifestyle or what it actually is? I am still however banned from flying with a particular airline after a tour incident involving the "what do do if one is going to crash" brochure, glue, a porn mag. and my version of what one should be doing in such a case :)
