-
What music has inspired you?
Music that expands on simple stereotypes of straight genres, through both fusion of genre and manipulation of expectations; such as Muse, Killswitch Engage, Stevey Ray Vaughan, John Mayer...
-
Use three words to sum yourself up?
Keep on changing.
-
What music are you listening to at the moment?
Metalcore, Jazz, Alternate Rock, Feel-good tracks.
-
If you had a choice to play one song, what would it be, and why?
So Cold - Breaking Benjamin; such a nice combination of layers between instrument parts, so very malleable between genres (converting to jazz, classical and deep metalcore) and very fun in terms of soloability
-
Where will you be in five years from now?
At the end of my Bachelor of Music (Performance Piano-Guitar) Degree, gigging and teaching :D
-
What venue would you most like to play at?
ACER ARENA. Great place, home in Sydney and great acoustics + the sound guys are amazing.
-
If you had a choice, who would be your support band?
Muse; classically trained, great tracks, can't staple a stereotype for their style all too easily so entertainment is always at a high :D
-
Have you ever played in a band before, and if so who?
Sadly not =.=
-
Three people you would invite to your gig and why?
My dearest girlfriend, cos my soul is fueled (once ignited) by the love I hold for her and there is nothing better than to play for someone who not only loves you but appreciates your style. My mate Rob, who got me back into classic rock, as well as being the constant reminder that hell, we don't all have talent but hey dedication and willpower can pull the best of tricks. My dear friend Anna, whos cynical take on life and its counterpart has given me one of many profound perspectives on the simple line 'Life sucks.'
-
Any tips you would like to share with your fellow musos?
Staple down a style that becomes your signature; but never become trapped by it - keep changing so the audience can never even leave the front of the seat, let alone sit down.
-
Do you live the Rock n Roll lifestyle?
Well, considering the stereotypes, probably not; I try to keep a straight balance between all of my secondary hobbies and mental workouts so I don't empty my head of what's important = as many perspectives on as many things as possible at any given time, so as to truly understand anything.
