What music has inspired you?
Bands such as Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin have inspired me from a young age. As I've gotten older i've enjoyed looking back at more acoustic artists and respect them for the incredible talents, such as Bob Dylan, Marley etc... All music has inspired me, but more specifically music with a message and true meaning behind the words, not crappy commercialised superstars.
-
Use three words to sum yourself up?
Guitar Music-is-life
-
What music are you listening to at the moment?
I listen to music everyday, and as often as i can.. im a bit of an addict. Recently i've been really into the techno scene, as i enjoy djing parties and creating remixes.. But i will always love listen to acoustic artists, and new up-and-coming alternative artists. Also just been listening to the artist Matisyahu, he's really got it right.
-
If you had a choice to play one song, what would it be, and why?
at the moment? 'One Day' - Matisyahu It has roots in reggae, and the song stands for something which i really believe in.. its also an amazing tune.
-
Where will you be in five years from now?
I know that whatever i do with my life it will revolve around music. I really hope to find a Drummer and begin turning my music from writing into actual band material. I have a lot of experiences with playing live, and 5 years from now i will be living off my favourite hobby, music.
-
What venue would you most like to play at?
I would love to play at an outdoor festival. I love the feeling live performances give me, and i see myself as an entertainer. So i'd have to say, a live performance somewhere outdoor, and big... T in the Park is not too much to ask. ;)
-
If you had a choice, who would be your support band?
Someone like me, trying to make a break into the music industry. If i was the luckiest man alive and actually broke into the industry in a big way, then i'd love to give someone else that chance..
-
Have you ever played in a band before, and if so who?
Yes. I played in a band from yr7 - yr9... quite a young band. but we played over 30 live gigs at various community functions. We played songs like 'Smells like teen spirit' and 'Californication' as well as producing 2 original tunes at the time... We called ourselves "Shallow Water"
-
Three people you would invite to your gig and why?
My pianist Adam Phillimore.. because i've never met anyone with more musical knowledge. A drummer, that i'm hoping to find.. someone who is prepared to have fun as well as take it seriously, as produce some amazing music.. And maybe a Dj, i'm all for the mixing of alternative music with electro sounds.. i think it is the way of the future and produces some really interesting and catchy sounds (ie Prodigy)
-
Any tips you would like to share with your fellow musos?
Dont say "Ye whatever ill get round to it later" Cos "later" will never come.. you need to get off your arse and get to it...start producing something real. But i'm a bit of a hypocrite.. and this is infact advice that i need to give myself
-
Do you live the Rock n Roll lifestyle?
Hahahahah, oh yess..
