Interview with Killersolos, 24.01.10

1. What music has inspired you?

   Originally I was inspired to play guitar by 80's and 90's rock bands such as Guns n Roses, Dream Theater and Metallica. I went on playing metal for some time until discovering the magic of Alternative/PostGrunge. I'm inspired by many Alternative Acts such as Foo fighters, Breaking Benjamin, Paramore and 30 Seconds to Mars. Jpop/rock has also influenced my writing style alot.

   Dedicated Intelligent Somewhat Talented

3. What music are you listening to at the moment?

   I listen to alot of Alternatvie Rock such as Breaking Benjamin, 30 seconds to mars and so on. However I also like Progressive such as tool and Dream Theater. Also I've been an avid fan of Jpop/rock cause i'm an Anime lover >.< And some Metal, cant stand some scremo and cant stand death metal one bit. Cant even stand Anthrax or Pantera. I just the metal Bands Ballad songs such as Slipknot's Vermillion.

4. If you had a choice to play one song, what would it be, and why?

   'God knows' By Hirano Aya, I Said i loved Jpop and this song has everything, like 4 awesome guitar solos, a nice driving beat, Unique chords and a good lively melody.

5. Where will you be in five years from now?

   Either Touring Australia with a Kickass Rock Band or Completing a bachlor in Medicine at Sydney U while minoring in Music and rocking out with a band on Friday/Saturday Nights or Studying in the Sydney Conservatorium of Music to become a pro.

6. What venue would you most like to play at?

   BIG DAY OUT!!!

7. If you had a choice, who would be your support band?

   Breaking Benjamin

8. Have you ever played in a band before, and if so who?

   Yes, Many very unsuccessful ones. Its very hard to find people who are as dedicated as me thats why i came searching here, Cuz you guys are legends : ) My most Recent one was called Diseresta however the Vocalist, Bassist and Rhythm Guitarist were not dedicated and skip practice on a regular basis. Also the Rhythm Guitarist and Vocalist were being Racist cause i'm asian. The Drummer and I were the only pro ones. So once we left the band just fell apart.

9. Three people you would invite to your gig and why?

   Producer from Sony BMG or some other big recording company. Matthew Bellamy, He's a really fun guy to be with at the after party. John Pettrucci, He can show me how its supposed to be done on guitar.

10. Any tips you would like to share with your fellow musos?

    Dedication and Practice is all you need to become a professional Musician. Talent is not neccessary if you're not gonna practice and are not dedicated. Talent just gets you that extra mile when you're professional. I have taught several talented students piano before however the ones that were not dedicated didn't make it very far and frustrated me alot however the ones that were dedicated made it very, very far in the wonderful world of music.

11. Do you live the Rock n Roll lifestyle?

    Kinda, I got the Music, Guitars and Fashion but not the Booze, Sex and Drugs cause i'm fully clean. As well as I dont have a band anymore -.-
