Choosing the right name for your band can often be a bigger challenge than you first anticipated! Not only do individual band members have different ideas and opinions but more importantly how are you going to create a band name that will best portray your band? -  A name which will compliment your genre of music, your image and who you are as individuals, and in turn generate exposure for your band! So that you are remembered not only for your great music, but also because you have a great name, a name which can be seen in the top 40, headlining a festival or winning an ARIA – A name which people will say “that bands got an awesome name!”

In the past many bands have formed, and although they may have sounded great, they have failed to be spotted as their chosen name has not had the desired impact to generate interest and attention! Their music may have made a mark, but the A&R man did not want to go to the gig or listen to the demo sent in by the ‘Jimmy and the Jammers’ . . . It’s all about marketing, marketing your band successfully, and your band name is a great starting point!

Many bands upon being signed will have their names changed by the record company, and all this is part of creating the complete package. . . . Just think, Cold Chisel or Warm Spanner? AC/DC or Electrical Current? Silverchair or Goldstool? Just remember your band name also has a crucial part to play in your success, so get out there, get noticed, be the complete package, have a band name that is destined for the top!
