About Timothy Nelson & The Infidels
- Only 20 years old, Nelson has taken home the coveted WAMi ‘Song Of The Year’ Award twice (2007 and 2009) and he and his Infidels have been busy. Interspersed with their own headline shows, the last eighteen months has seen the band support the likes of Birds Of Tokyo, Katie Noonan & The Captains, Whitley, Lior and Clare Bowditch, to name but a few. September 5th this year saw them hang a big ol ‘SOLD OUT’ sign on the front door of Perth’s 500 capacity Amplifier Bar. Not an album launch, or even a single launch - it was just a local show from a local band that, over the last two years, has earned themselves a reputation as “one of Perth’s must-see live acts” (Xpress Magazine). With engineer James Newhouse, Nelson and his Infidels have just completed work on their debut album “I Know This Now”. Final mastering is currently being completed at Abbey Road Studios in London with the album slated for an early 2011 release. Though a couple of tracks had been circulated around Perth, in August of this year the band officially released their debut single Nothings In Tune as an introduction to the rest of Australia: “If this is a sign of things to come from The Infidels, I can’t wait for that album to drop!” – Sounds Of Oz “a band to watch out for” – On The Tune “great things to come from Timothy Nelson & The Infidels” – The Dwarf New single ‘You Don’t Know What You’re Waiting For’ is - in Nelson’s own words “basically about growing up and in doing so, understanding that it’s you that has to make and be responsible for any changes that need to be made in your own life . A good example of the large production value the album has”. The Infidels are: Luke Dux (guitar), Brad Forest (bass), Ellen Oosterbaan - acoustic guitar & vocals and Peter Forgus – drums
