About Diamond Eye
Lead vocalist WILL KELLY and guitarist GREG FAWCETT returned from ventures on the east coast. Having worked together previously, they spent the next few months refining ideas and writing new material. After recruiting New Zealand born bassist CHASE CAMERON and drummer DANNY TORRE, DIAMOND EYE was born. Late 2008 saw the replacement of Danny with local hotshot drummer TROY “BAGZ” GOSCOMBE. The band have since amicably parted with Troy and are searching for an ass-kicking, hard working skinsman... DIAMOND EYE’S music can be described as melodic hard rock in the vein of KISS, MOTLEY CRUE, AC/DC and BON JOVI, through to the heavy metal stylings of METALLICA and IRON MAIDEN, all with a modern edge. Drawing on these influences both musically and visually creates the canvas on which they paint their own picture. Since their formation, DIAMOND EYE have been playing regularly on the local scene with many of Perth’s top bands, gaining the respect of their peers, steadily building up a following and drawing a lot of positive feedback from industry stalwarts. DIAMOND EYE won the West Australian final for the 2008 GLOBAL BATTLE OF THE BANDS and placed 2nd in the Australasian Final in Sydney in late 2008. The band is currently in pre-production for the recording and release of their debut LP and negotiating with various record companies in relation to securing a distribution deal that will see them have their wares distributed internationally.
