  • It’s not often that a band owes their existence to the humble hamburger. For Boys Boys Boys!, the story of this six-piece pop band begins sandwiched between the sesame seeds of circumstance and the tasty mustard of talent. It all began at the beginning of 2008, when three girls were working together at a retro diner. As crinkle cut fries and burger grease began to come between them, they decided to start a band to save their friendship. Since three people are good but more is better, the girls girls girls invited their friends (some of them boys) to join them. Their new recruits proved great inspiration, as the earliest Boys Boys Boys! song features lines including “Alwyn’s going to kiss the boys” (for the record, he’s not). As six people pooled their collective likes, dislikes and experiences, out came a sound that drew on the poppy harmonies and synchronised dance moves of ‘60s girl groups and the synth-drenched electro influx of the ‘80s. Boys Boys Boys!' sugary electro pop harmonies and lycra-clad lyrics have now seen them star-jump across Perth, supporting the likes of Uffie, Van She, the Galvatrons and New York’s Matt & Kim. As sweet as your Nana’s cherry pie with a sound that shimmies like ya mum, make sure you get your babe on with Boys Boys Boys!’ fruity looped cocoa pop. …And next time you sink your teeth into a juicy hamburger, just remember where it could lead to
